A simple and novel control strategy for semi-active vibration suppression by a magnetorheological damper

چکیده

Conventional skyhook-based ON–OFF control switches the damping force on a vibration suppression target according to sign of product and relative velocities (which is called condition function). Here, we propose strategy that uses novel function for improved performance. The proposed formulated based theory forced with base excitation. Its effect upon semi-active performance investigated via numerical simulations experimental tests small structure equipped magnetorheological (MR) damper. In simulations, can offer high-performance suppression, even in presence delays experiments show displacement response lower than conventional over entire frequency range; furthermore, desired be achieved when used velocity-proportional control. simplicity high demonstrated by make it applicable practical systems, unavoidable controllable dampers.
